goth people in high school are rebelling. maybe because they hate their parents, maybe they were made fun of a lot in elementary and middle school, maybe they liked a kid who was goth so they changed over. whatever the reason, they look that way for attention or to scare people away because they are scared themselves. anyone who says they are freaks, and ugly, doesn't understand them and won't bother to take the time so they sterotype them into marilyn manson types. I have lived my life with one motto. "just because i don't look like you, or act like you, doesn't make me any better or worse." My advice, is to at least get to know her before you judge her from her appearance. good luck
