Although I love all classic rock too being a guitar player...

Menko your list is too general...

Randy Rhoads one of the greatest...and ya Thrash Metal (little typo^)
How long you been playing?? I have been playing about 3-4 years.

Gb7, I'd say approaching 6-7 years now, I've lost track almost ha..

Yeah randy is one of the best, you probably know he started out in Quiet Riot?

What kind of guitar and gear you got? I got a rack unit with mesa boogie v twin preamp, mesa boogie 50/50 into a marshall cab, I still need to get an effects processor, considering the G Major 2... I also have a marshall jcm 2000 tsl 60 watt combo, and guitars I got a guitar made by Floyd Rose and a fender strat...

Menko I love all those bands you posted and classic rock just as much as you, however I think the term "classic rock" is too broad anymore....Some consider led zeppelin the beginning of metal..

Some 80s bands that some consider classic rock:
    Van Halen
    Scorpions
    anything Ozzy
    etc
Some 80s hair bands that some now consider classic rock:
    Motley crue
    Poison
    Twisted Sister
    etc

The 60s, 70s, and 80s was an incredible time for all music..

True jp, note I said "some".

My personal opinion is that black sabbath was more influential to metal than LZ..
