if I am not mistaken, emmitt smith won 3 super bowls and leads all rbs in yards rushing and rushing tds.... that would put him pretty high on the list I would think..... he did have the longevity to amass all those stats, but that means he must have been ok...

Emmitt Smiths longevity was the best and only thing he has goin for him...besides the best Oline ever...maybe thats why he got thous numbers and lasted so long. As far as pure skill and talent at RB..he is still lucky to make top 20.

I am not going to disagree with your point, it will be up to those who vote to determine if best rb means by talent or by stats and victories.

I did make it pretty obvious which ones were mine this time cause they will not be part of the vote since I received more than 1 by now (like last week).....

Okay, I HATE the Cowboys, but I will tell you that Emmitt Smith is easily one of the best running backs I ever saw. Yes, he had a great o-line, but so what! You gonna knock Joe Montana and Steve Young because they had great receivers? Did you ever watch what the back ups did when Emmitt was holding out a couple games for a new contract? They didn't do jack squat. Emmitt was a complete back. He had power, speed, hands, blitz pick up, and the best vision of any back I've seen. He was durable and tough to boot. Ever see that 1993 game vs. Giants that he played with one arm? I saw Barry Sanders many times. He was a magical back, but if you look at his carries, it was usually 1, 2, -2, 3, -1, 5, 80.... He was a home run hitter, but also struck out many times. I saw Marshall Faulk. I'd put him in top 5 easily. I saw Payton, Dorsett, Thomas, Dickerson, Davis, Tomlinson, and many many more. I didn't just see them in the old time highlight reels, I saw them live and to not say Emmitt is one of the best ever is idiocy. Sorry furry, I love ya brother, but you're wrong about Emmitt.

the barry sanders one was great except that the highlights were against the packers. sob... sob... But still the sig's goodness almost makes up for it. lol
