no he is not ed reed is a wide reciever playing saftey he is a really good coverage saftey and can stop the run as well as bob sanders when he is health he just had a neck injury this year so he did not tackle with his whole body and force so he missed more tackles then he usually does

This isn't even really a competition... Reed is the better FS and Polamalu is the better SS. Neither would do as well if forced to play the others position, although they would still be good. Not great. It's a push.

You are right SS ussually are slower than FS so the are usually used for covering the TE and run stopig while FS are ment for covering the faster guys and for deeper coverage although iwould rather have the ball hawk on my team LOL but thats just me
